The most important things to know about Dandoy Glass
When Torrance residents and businesses need glass installation they can count on, they call Dandoy Glass. Founded in 1948 and still family-owned today, we have been a fixture in the South Bay for more than seven decades — long enough to have installed glass for multiple generations of the same Torrance families. From a frameless shower enclosure in Hollywood Riviera to a commercial storefront on Sepulveda Boulevard, we approach every job with the same standard: measure precisely, cut cleanly, install right the first time. Our licensed glazers know Torrance — the neighborhoods, the building codes, the South Bay climate. We do not do auto glass. What we do, we do exceptionally well.

ABOUT DANDOY GLASS
How long has Dandoy Glass been in business?
Dandoy Glass was founded in 1948 and has been continuously family-owned and operated on
Arlington Avenue in Torrance ever since — over 76 years serving the South Bay. We have
installed glass for multiple generations of the same South Bay families.
Is Dandoy Glass family owned?
Yes. Dandoy Glass has been owned and operated by the same family since 1948. You are not
calling a call center or dealing with a franchise. You are working with people who have built
their reputation in the South Bay community over more than seven decades.
Where is Dandoy Glass located?
Our showroom is at 23406 Arlington Avenue in Torrance, California 90501. We are open
Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. You are welcome to stop by to see hardware
samples and glass options, or we can come to you for a free in-home estimate.
Is Dandoy Glass licensed and insured?
Yes. All of our glazers are licensed and Dandoy Glass carries full insurance for all residential
and commercial work throughout the South Bay. We comply with all California contractor
requirements and have done so continuously since 1948.
Does Dandoy Glass do auto glass?
No. We specialize in residential and commercial glass — shower doors, windows, mirrors,
railings, tabletops, storefronts, and more. For auto glass you will need a separate specialist.
For everything in your home or business, we are your team.
Does Dandoy Glass speak Spanish?
Yes. Se habla espanol. Our team includes Spanish-speaking staff who can assist you
throughout the estimate, fabrication, and installation process.
ESTIMATES AND PRICING
Are estimates really free?
Yes — always. We come to your home or business, take precise measurements, assess the
space, and provide you with a clear written estimate at no charge and with no obligation.
There is no pressure to proceed and no fee if you decide not to go ahead.
How do I get an estimate?
Call us at (310) 326-1880 during business hours — Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00
PM. We will schedule a time to visit your home or business, take measurements, and provide
a written quote. You can also stop by our showroom at 23406 Arlington Avenue in Torrance.
How much does a frameless shower door cost?
The cost of a frameless shower door depends on the size of your shower opening, the glass
thickness you choose (3/8" is standard, 1/2" is heavier and premium), and your hardware
finish selection. Because every bathroom is different, we provide free in-home estimates
rather than rough ranges that may not apply to your space. Call (310) 326-1880 to schedule.
How much does a glass railing cost?
Glass railing pricing depends on the linear footage of the run, the glass thickness, the post or
channel system, and the hardware finish. Coastal installations require marine-grade hardware
which affects cost. We provide free in-home estimates for all railing projects — call to
schedule.
Are there any hidden fees?
No. The price in your written estimate is the price you pay. We do not add on fees after the
fact. If anything changes during the project that would affect the cost, we discuss it with you
before proceeding.
Do you require a deposit?
For custom glass orders we typically require a deposit to begin fabrication. The exact terms
are outlined in your written estimate. We will walk you through the payment schedule when we
provide your quote.
SHOWER DOORS AND ENCLOSURES
What is the difference between frameless and semi-frameless shower glass?
A frameless shower enclosure uses heavy tempered glass (typically 3/8" or 1/2" thick) with
minimal hardware — no metal frame around the glass panels. The result is a clean, open look
that shows off your tile work. A semi-frameless enclosure uses lighter glass in a partial frame,
which is a more affordable option while still looking modern and clean.
What glass thickness do you recommend for shower doors?
3/8" tempered glass is our standard recommendation and is suitable for most residential
shower enclosures. 1/2" glass is heavier, feels more substantial, and is popular in higher-end
remodels. Both options are available with the full range of hardware finishes.
What hardware finishes are available for shower doors?
We offer brushed nickel, polished chrome, matte black, oil-rubbed bronze, and satin brass
hardware finishes. The right choice depends on your existing bathroom fixtures — we will
show you samples during your estimate visit so you can match your space.
How long does a shower door installation take?
After we visit your home and measure, custom glass typically takes about one week to
fabricate. The installation itself usually takes 2 to 4 hours depending on the size and
configuration of the enclosure. We will give you a firm installation date when we provide your
estimate.
Do you remove the old shower door before installing the new one?
Yes. We remove your existing shower door or enclosure as part of the installation process. We
take care to protect your tile and shower surfaces during removal and clean up completely
before we leave.
Can you install a shower door in a non-standard or unusual bathroom?
Yes. Custom sizing is our standard — we fabricate every piece of glass to your exact
measurements. Angled ceilings, curved walls, corner showers, and unusual configurations are
all within our capability.

GLASS RAILINGS
Where can glass railings be installed?
We install glass railings for interior staircases, exterior decks and balconies, pool surrounds,
and commercial applications. They are popular throughout the South Bay for both coastal
homes where views matter and modern interior renovations where a clean aesthetic is the
goal.
Are glass railings safe?
Yes. All of our glass railing installations use tempered or laminated safety glass and are
engineered and installed to meet California building code requirements. The glass and
hardware are rated for the load and impact requirements specified by code for railing
applications.
What hardware do you use for coastal installations?
For all South Bay coastal properties — including those in Redondo Beach, Manhattan Beach,
Hermosa Beach, Rancho Palos Verdes, and San Pedro — we specify marine-grade stainless
steel or powder-coated aluminum hardware. This is engineered to resist the salt air and
humidity that corrodes standard hardware within just a few years near the ocean.
Do glass railings require a building permit?
In most cases, yes. Railing installations in California typically require a permit, especially for
exterior applications. We can advise you on the permit process for your city and work to your
approved plans. Requirements vary by city and project scope — we will discuss this during
your estimate.
Can you match an existing railing style or replace damaged panels?
Yes. We can fabricate replacement glass panels for existing railing systems and match glass
thickness and dimensions to what you have. We can also replace damaged panels in an
existing frameless system without replacing the entire installation.
MIRRORS, TABLETOPS, AND WINDOWS
Can you cut a mirror to a custom size?
Yes. Custom-cut mirrors are one of our most common services. We cut mirrors to your exact
dimensions with polished or beveled edges. Common applications include bathroom vanity
mirrors, full-wall gym and fitness mirrors, decorative wall pieces, and closet door mirrors. Bring
us your measurements or we can come to you.
Can you install a large gym mirror in my home?
Yes. We regularly install large-format gym and fitness room mirrors throughout the South Bay.
We cut the glass to your exact wall dimensions, polish all edges, and install safely and cleanly.
We can accommodate any room size and any wall configuration including corners and partial
walls.
Do you cut glass tabletop covers?
Yes. Glass tabletop covers to protect dining tables, coffee tables, desks, and dressers are one
of our fastest turnaround services. Bring us the dimensions of your tabletop, or we can come
to you. Polished edges are included as standard. Beveled edges and custom shapes are also
available.
Can you replace a broken window in my home?
Yes. We cut and install replacement glass for residential and commercial windows — single
pane, double pane, jalousie, casement, fixed, and specialty shapes. Standard sizes are often
available same week. Custom or unusual sizes typically take a few extra days. Call us with
your dimensions and we will give you an accurate timeline.
Do you do glass shelving?
Yes. We fabricate and install glass shelves for bathrooms, kitchens, living spaces, and retail
display cases. We cut to your exact dimensions with polished edges and can supply shelf
brackets if needed.
COMMERCIAL GLASS
Do you install commercial storefront glass?
Yes. We fabricate and install commercial glass storefronts for retail, restaurant, and office
spaces throughout the South Bay — including Torrance, Redondo Beach, Manhattan Beach,
Hermosa Beach, Carson, Lomita, San Pedro, and surrounding cities. We handle new builds
and replacement panels and work with business owners, property managers, and general
contractors.
Can you install office partitions and glass walls?
Yes. We install glass partitions, conference room walls, and interior office dividers for
commercial and industrial properties throughout the South Bay. We provide professional
installation with minimal disruption to your business operations and can work outside of
business hours where needed.
Do you work with contractors and property managers?
Yes. We regularly work with general contractors, design-build firms, interior designers, and
property managers on residential and commercial projects. We provide written quotes, work to
your project schedule, communicate clearly throughout, and provide documentation as
needed.
Do you handle commercial glass replacement and emergency repairs?
Yes. For broken storefronts, shattered display windows, and other urgent commercial glass
needs, call us at (310) 326-1880 and we will discuss the fastest available option. Timely
commercial glass service is important to your business security and we treat it accordingly.
Can you work with HOA requirements for commercial or residential projects?
Yes. We have experience working within HOA guidelines and requirements common
throughout the South Bay — including gated communities in Rancho Palos Verdes, Palos
Verdes Estates, and Rolling Hills. We can provide documentation and specification sheets as
required for HOA approval.

INSTALLATION AND PROCESS
What is the process from first call to completed installation?
First, call us at (310) 326-1880 to schedule a free in-home estimate. We visit your home or
business, assess the space, take precise measurements, and provide a written quote. Once
you approve the estimate and we receive a deposit, we fabricate your custom glass —
typically about one week. We then schedule the installation, which usually takes half a day to
a full day depending on the scope of the project.
Do you use subcontractors?
No. Every installation is performed by our own trained, licensed glazers. We do not use
subcontractors. The same team that gives you your estimate and takes your measurements is
the team responsible for your installation.
Will your team clean up after the installation?
Yes. Our installation teams clean up completely before they leave — removing all glass
offcuts, packaging, and debris, and wiping down the installation area. We treat your home or
business with respect throughout.
What if something is wrong after installation?
Do you provide any warranty on your glass installations?
Yes. We stand behind the quality of our workmanship. For specific warranty terms on your
project, ask us when we provide your estimate — terms vary depending on the type of
installation and the hardware manufacturer.
